Denya had made a chalange for all he otters. They must swim up the rapids. He went first, powerful rudder slapped the water, and he strained, and heaved himself, rather speedily, up the rapids. Eventualy he made it up, and heaved himself onto the bank. He panted, and looked down at his otters. The Rapids were steep, sharp, and dangerous. But he never gave in, thus making him able to swim up it. This paticular waterfall, could smash boats to bits. A big brawny otter called up, 'Ad a nice swim did ya' Denya?' Denya grinned, 'Aye so I did mate! Y' want to give 'et a try Borrakul?' Borrakul the one who had first spoken grinned, 'Aye so I will!' He shouted up, and dived into the raging rapids. The fearless otter made his way up swiftly, just a bit slower than Denya. But more smoothly, he came out with fewer bruises. Borrakul hauled himself up beside Denya, who patted him on the back heartily, 'Well done mate! Y' scaled those rapids like a real expert!' Borrakul grinned, 'So I did mate! So I did!' He looked down at the others, and called out to them, 'Ahoy me mateys! Come on o'er 'ere jus' give y' self a good ole' push at 'e bottom and up you'll be up 'ere in no time!' There were daredevil grins from the males, and some worried looks from the females. Juska, a female otter called up, 'Pray dear sir, but what of our babes?' Denya fielded the question him being Skipper, and all, 'Keep yon babes near ye' miss go in a pair wiv' 'em an be carefull 'elp will be jus a call away!' He winked at her, and watched as they lined up. Mothers with babes, and the fathers still with daredevil grins, went alone up on the rapids. First to go was Zekle, a young foolish otter. He tried to look big, and brave, but really he was feeling frightened as a babe. He plunged in, and got stuck at a part, Borrakul came to assist him. Borrakul dived in, and grabed his paw, then helped supprot him, as they went up. When they got onto the bank, Zekle glared at Borrakul, and scowled, 'I never asked fer yore 'elp an' I didn't need it!' Denya intervened quickly, 'Calm down mate.' He told Zekle. Zekle scowled, and swaggered away. Borrakul shook his head, and he sighed 'e's too young an' foolish that un mate.' Denya shoved Borrakul playfuly, 'We all were once upon a time, weren't we mate?' Borrakul grinned, and nodded, and they watched, and helped the others up, as the line became smaller.

Skipper grinned, 'Good on ye mate! If'n any o' yore lot needs 'elp we'll be 'ere!' Borrakul nodded, 'Aye ye can count on us mate!' He winked at Fouad's holt, and leapt up onto a slippery rock on the rapids edge, and scaled down to the waters edge. It was indeed a very dangerous position, he could be battered to death against the rock, by the rapids. But he held a tight grasp onto the ledge as he lowered himself poperly into the water, and called down to Fouad, 'Aye mate were ready!' He had to roar just to be heard over the rapids, and he hefted himself, so his feet were clinging underwater to the rough, and slippery ledge.

"Ok I'll go first." Said Fouad. Fouad swam up the river with the streangth of a true sea otter his hefty rudderliketail propeled him through the water at an amazing speed. He was there in a manner of seconds. "Hah it takes a true oter to swim like that mates com on everyone men first." He called down.

Denya leant Fouad a paw to help him out of the water, and grinned at him, 'Aye so et dose, but y' an' yore lot swim out in th' sea, so yer bound t' be used t' waters like this!' Borrakul shifted his grip, and relayed the message down to the other otters, 'Are ye' all deaf? 'e said c'mon mates! I 'ave a idea all o' th' men cum up first in a race! Sea Otters, an' River Otters!'
All of the male Otters dived in, trying to get a head start, but the very first up who was suddenly up there like lightning was a male called Pike. He was brawny, and youthful, and he was fine, he had a wife, and babe. His wife was called Shark, and she was by far faster in the water against him, though they both pushed the extream limit.
Shark fussed her babe Croc to come with her, and he did. They were the fastest family ever to swim the water. Shark, and Croc were by far fastest of the Female's, and babe's, when they were told to go, and they were faster than Pike had been.
When Borrakul had seen the last of them up, the rapids. He swam up the rapids, and patted the whole family on there backs. He looked incredibly surprised at Croc, who was jsut a babe, 'Caw mates! Yore blimmin good, even liddle Croc 'ere can go faster than I can!'

Skipper grinned as Gizmo came up the rapids speedily, and gave him the thumbs up. Borrakul noticed Kirlan, as he saw the last of the otters up the rapids. Then when they were all up he went, and dived into the water, flowing with it, he dagerously weaved through the rocks. He dissapeared under the froth of the rapids for quite a age, Skipper saw, and held his breath, it was difficult to get down rapids. Borrakul suddenly appeared like a brown shot on the bank, slipping out onto the bank, and hopping up, he grinned at Kirlan. 'Ello mate, noticed ye down 'ere, I'm Borrakul.' He grinned and held out his paw.

Skipper shook his head, and sat down on a rock, 'Looks like we should wait fer, 'em mate!' He then looked down at Borrakul. Borrakul nodded, 'We best get up afore they get impat'ent wiv us.' He gave Kirlan a broad wink, and set off at a heavy pace up the side of the rapids, which seemed to curve quite a bit, but his muscle stopped him from going fast up on land. Then he stopped to see if Kirlan was following.
